In the same year, it was announced Tolman would have a two-episode appearance on the Mindy Project, playing Abby Berman, a romance writer. In 2015, she played as a character supporting Michael Dougherty's comedy horror film Krampus. Following her breakout role on Fargo, Tolman declined several supporting parts as mothers or wives as well as best friends seeking some more unique roles. Tolman was cast in ABC's Downward Dog based off the Animal Media Group webseries. The show lasted for one year. Tolman played a role in the ABC drama, Emergence. The series premiered September 24, 2019 and ended after one season in May 2021, even though Tolman tweeted it received "pretty excellent" ratings. The actress was a guest on NBC's Good Girls.
